About MUISS

Published by Admin.Kel

What is MUISS?

MUISS is an acronym for Monash University International Students Service, the international student organization on the Clayton campus. We are an autonomous division of the Monash Students Association. We are a student run organization, dedicated to uphold the rights and welfare of international students enrolled at the Clayton campus.

Representation and Involvement

MUISS is composed of seven executive committee members who are democratically elected by international students. These include the President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Officer, Publications Officer, Services and Welfare Officer, and Education Officer.

There are also upto 18 committee members who serve in different portfolios who help in the running and governing of MUISS. MUISS invites students who are interested to become committee or sub-committee members, or just volunteer a few hours at any of our events.

MUISS’ Mission

To protect the welfare of international students and ensure that their rights and interests are not infringed upon.

To promote cultural and social exchange between international students and the wider university community in the hope of encouraging understanding and acceptance of differences.

MUISSMembership

All international students enrolled in Monash Clayton are automatically members of MUISS and are entitled to benefits from all MUISS services and take part in all MUISS organized activities.

The MUISS Lounge

The MUISS Lounge is the hub for all international students studying different subjects around the campus. IT’s a great place to chill out and make some friends. Cosy and comfortable, it is like a home away from home to many. There are sofas and dining tables, microwave ovens, refrigerator, TV and DVD as well as a splendid view of Menzies lawn.

In addition to all that, MUISS also offers refreshments such as tea, coffee and chocolate. Facilities such as fax and phone services are also available to make it a convenient place to get things done.
